I am a single mother who has been raising my child on my own for over 10 years. I learned to dance when I was young, but had to stop later. It was only in 2023 that I joined the 'Dance Your Heart Out programme and started learning the Egyptian dance. I am grateful to the Dance For Life charity organization for providing free courses that allowed me to learn about Egyptian dance culture and perform on the stage. I was delighted to meet the dance instructor, May, who loves Egyptian dance and her patience guidance have aroused and sparked my interest. May knew I was interested in handicrafts and understood my dream of opening an online shop. However, the lack of sales channels has made this dream look rather distant. She suggested me to consider selling dance-themed dolls, which could help me to better ur derstand the market demand and to explore more sales channels, thus to increase my personal income. I continue to learn Egypian dance in order to gain an in-depth understanding of its culture and unique characteristics. Through dancing, I have experienced how women of different body shapes can express their unique beauty in the dance movements. This has improved the flexibility of my body and boosted my personal confidence. In the classes, my classmates are full of passion and we encourage each other, and I am learning from them how to better express my smiling, which is important for me to learn. Furthermore, the exercises to my waist, pelvis, and feet have helped to alleviate my back pain, making it easier for me to take care for my child.
